Sons of the Sand: is my reference drawing from a series of illustrations, which later inspired me to compose a song and create a video clip. The video, lasting 4 minutes and 47 seconds, visually walks through my drawings while I narrate a brief story. It showcases 12 drawings created over two years during travels across the Iberian Peninsula and my native South Korea. The “Zoom In” mode of the tour through my drawings acts as a tantric journey, displaying the repetitive and holistic, obsessive layout. These become creative methods imbued with deep introspective content, giving them the appearance of a delicate jewel. As a visual artist and musician, I believe in the musical values of color. “Sons of the Sand” conveys the power of color transformed into melodies filled with melancholy, rich in allegories that sing of life itself.
