Shintoism & Oscillation: Shintoscilation is a play on words that merges “Shinto” and “Oscillation.” Shinto derives from Shintoism, which venerates ancestors through their connections to the forces of nature and the cycles of the seasons. It was believed that these forces could be beneficially influenced by mastering them through magic and ritual. The word “Oscillation” refers to a variation, disturbance, or fluctuation over time in a medium or system. As a shaman artist, I have coined the term “Shintoscilation” as my critique of our consumer society, which devours the resources of this planet. These consumptions are the cause of disturbances in the cycle of nature. Yet, in the face of these alterations, “love” prevails as the primary pillar, transformed into fundamental values that maintain the balance between humanity and nature.
